About Us . . .

At the Wabash Valley Church of Christ, we believe that. . .

  • Worship is more than entertainment.
  • Bringing children to Christ involves more than fun & games.
  • Fellowship is broader than the "fellowship hall".
  • Sermons should be more than stories and cute jokes.

If You're Looking for a Church . . .

  • where worship is orderly and respectful
  • that provides solid Bible answers for today's problems
  • where joy and forgiveness are real
  • that is a family of caring Christians
  • that uses the Bible to instruct children

Then join us at the Wabash Valley Church of Christ!

What to Expect When You Visit

We hope that you take the time to visit the Wabash Valley Church of Christ.  If you do, here is what you can expect . . . .

Kindness
Everyone who enters our doors will be greeted with courtesy and kindness (Galatians 3:28, James 2:1-12).  Our goal is to encourage everyone to be faithful to the Lord (Hebrews 10:24-25).  You’ll find that we are a very friendly group of people!

Respectful & Heartfelt Worship

We believe that worship and entertainment are not the same thing.  God is the focus of our worship, and our first goal is to please Him and not ourselves (John 4:23-24).  Our services are simple, orderly and respectful (1 Corinthians 14:33, 40) yet from the heart (John 4:24).

Prayer
At various times in the service, members of the congregation will be called upon to lead the congregation reverently and quietly in prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-5).

The Lord's Supper
Each week we eat bread and drink juice in memory of the death of Christ (Matthew 26:26 - 29).  We do this every Sunday, like Christians in the first century (Acts 20:7).

Giving
A collection for the work of the church will be taken (1 Corinthians 16:1-3). We are entirely supported by the offerings from our members. We do not expect nonmembers or visitors to financially support our work.

Singing
We do not believe that music is to entertain us or to glorify the singer.  We believe that the purpose of singing is deeper than that.  The words of our songs are easy to understand (1 Corinthians 14:15) and sung from the heart (Colossians 3:16).  Through song we praise the Lord and teach & build up one another.

The Bible
The Bible is our guide. The Bible is studied in our classes and in our sermons. You will never be asked to accept what some person says about the Bible.  We encourage you to read the Bible for yourself (Acts 17:11).  Each person is provided with an outline of the sermon that lists the passages that are read.  You are encouraged to take these outlines home and study them fore yourself.

Christ is our only savior and the Bible our only guide.  We are an independent and non-denominational group.
